United Way of Greater Lorain County's 2014 Campaign Kickoff

Football season is quickly approaching, which means campaign season is here at United Way of Greater Lorain County! Our annual tailgate themed Campaign Kickoff will take place Friday, August 21st from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Mike Bass Ford in Sheffield Village.

We invite the community to join us in a "white out" of Mike Bass Ford for our FREE Campaign Kickoff, so be sure to wear your LIVE UNITED t-shirt or grab one during the event to wear!

Bring your appetite and smile along with you as the event will feature food, prizes, activities, and lots of fun. Prizes range from a Kindle to an autographed Joe Haden football. Entertainment will be packed full of laughter and fun with local mascots, the Midview High School marching band and WKYC Channel 3's Tiffany Tarpley as the MC for the event. Tarpley is a Lorain native and a graduate of Lorain County Community College.

A variety of interactive stations will take place inside and outside of the showroom - all for a chance to win great prizes!

Also, don't forget to bring school supplies for the "Fill the Bus" drive! Fill the Bus will consist of collecting and sorting school supplies in order to send Lorain County children back to school prepared to learn. Attendees are welcomed and encouraged to organize school supply drives at their workplaces throughout August so that we can fill the bus on August 21st! Prior to the start of the kickoff, we will be holding a “Press Conference”, starting at 10:30 a.m. where there will be an exclusive screening of our brand new campaign video. As part of the screening, filmmaker Chris Benninger will be on hand to share his experiences in creating a powerful piece for a local non-profit and executive director Bill Harper will share updates on the exciting work of UWGLC. Copies of the video and campaign resources will be available to UWGLC campaign volunteers.

The press conference and video screening is open to all United Way of Greater Lorain County supporters. As part of registration please indicate if you will be attending the press conference.
